Perhaps

There once was a girl who followed a dog
who followed a car up and over a hill
and I don’t know why she followed that dog;
perhaps there was love.

There once was a woman who followed a soul
who followed a heart to a place then unknown
and I don’t know why she followed that soul;
perhaps there was love.

There once was a lady who followed a mind
that followed the feel of something real
and I don’t know why she followed that mind;
perhaps there was love.

Perhaps there was love but I don’t know why!

  1. JL says:

    There once was a love so true and sweet
    Or was there?
    Thus rises the question:
    “If two can sleep alone, can one sleep together?”
    (Of course you have to ask that with a Yiddish accent).

    Helen, you have a very unique perspective with an uncommon
    depth of understanding.

    Love this.

    Hi, JL. Those closest to us in mind are together with us when we are sleeping so, yes, one can sleep together and this I know but do not know. :)

    And, yes, there was once a love so true and sweet but life has a sweet tooth and steals it away.

    Thank you for popping in here, JL!
